By now you may have heard that the USPS has filed for a postage rate increase to go into effect on April 17, 2011. The postage increase for presorted 1st class is 1.741%, standard is 1.739%. What does this mean for you? We have created a comparison chart of the most common rates, feel free to check it out.

You may be as surprised as I was by the lower costs on nonprofit letters. This is not a bad thing but, surprising just the same. The increases to the most common rates are not too bad. The USPS really focused on areas where they are loosing money because it is so hard to process. I understand that the financial situation of the post office is really bad right now, but I don’t have  to like the postage increases.
